Video Photo Album Michelangelo’s David

When I first laid eyes on Michelangelo’s David, I was struck with a profound sense of awe. The sheer size of the sculpture, the meticulous depiction of the human form, and the artistic accuracy were simply breathtaking. It was a sight that demanded my full attention. This led me to a commitment to capture the intricate details of Michelangelo’s work through photography. I have seen a plethora of photographs of David. However, what struck me most was the presence of fear in his face when you see him in person. Therefore, I wanted to photograph David without flash or other lighting. Using the natural lighting in the Academia, I set the goal of photographing the moment just before David’s battle with Goliath.

These photographs are an effort to place you at the Academia, looking at David. Hopefully, you can sense David’s fear and apprehension. Michelangelo’s brilliant work places you with David at the moment he faces Goliath. Michelangelo’s ability to capture the emotion and perfect human form proves he is a genius.
